 The
world would have been a better place if more artists created music
like Torben Thoger. His album entitled Harmony is, as you might
guess, a collection of truly harmonic music. All five tracks on this
album are beautiful beyond words. It is music for the soul. But as
with all of Thoger's albums, the sound is never simple. There is a
depth here, something poetic and romantic.
The layers of rich synths, strings and piano are creating a pleasant
soundscape.
I must also mention the nature sounds Thoger uses, the running water
and waves,
in just the right amount. All the tracks are long, one over 16 minutes.
My favorite is the ethnic sounds on track five, Of Our Dreams.
It is like a book with five happy fairytales, told with music. We all
need harmony, right? The album can be bought on
Amazon
or other music outlets.

“Love, Luz, Light” is
the title of a new spiritual ballad I will include in my album
“LUZ” (Release 2010). The lead vocal is by Joy (my daughter). Her Danish name
“Lærke” is hard to pronounce and remember for most people outside
Denmark,
so she has taken the artist name “Joy”. That’s easy!

Territories for Torbens music expanded at MIDEM
In January 2008 Torben Thoger went to Cannes in France, where he attended
MIDEM 2008 - the worlds
largest music exhibition. Again this year Torben succeeded in making more
deals for distributing and licensing his
music albums and tracks throughout the world. Apart from finishing
agreements regarding Hong Kong and China
and one for promotion and sales in the United States (takes off in
February 2008) he signed a 7 year contract with
Times Music in India and another one with Azul Music in Brazil.

Desmond Chan (in the middle) is the boss at Silk Road Music in Hong Kong, who will release the music that Torben together with his Spanish partners are working on at the moment. The music is instrumental and the project is inspired by traditional Chinese melodies, and the purpose is that both people from the east and from the west like the music. It is a fusion of music from different cultures and the keyword is: "Dialogue". |
